When the President Talks to God...
I have never heard of Bright Eyes before, but his May 2 performance of When the President Talks to God on the Leno show is worth a gander – it’s a protest song that looks less-than-fondly upon our dear president. I’m actually surprised that Leno allowed such a critical song to be performed on his show, considering how anti-controversy he is (i.e., Leno's a big pussy).

Yeah. This song's good. And has a very classic Woody Guthrie folk vibe to it, which oddly doesn't seem dated and out of context.
What I find interesting about that clip is the crowd's reaction. Chicks who must know him scream like he's Rob Thomas (I doubt they were fired up about the political statement), one person boos, and the rest of the audience claps politely.
Everyone in that room should have stood to their feet, yelled "Fuck yeah!" in unison, and set off on a spontaneous patriotic march on Washington.
