Lasers!...
CNN has a greatly interesting article about the National Ignition Facility, where engineers and scientists are attempting to build the world's most powerful laser in the hopes of being able to induce fusion ignition. Cool stuff if they can pull it off.
And to my reader EmoRiot, if you would like an indepth explanation of this laser setup, please let me know....
